Founded in 1974, Wheldons specialises in the installation, repair, service and maintenance of heating systems within domestic properties and larger centralised systems within sheltered housing schemes and the like.

The company was acquired by the McNicholas Construction Group in May 2000 and renamed Wheldon Contracts & Services Ltd.

Clive Wheldon was retained and still is the Managing Director of Wheldon Contracts & Services Ltd.

Since acquisition the company has expanded steadily from £4.75 million to £12.5 million per annum turnover, with increases arising from the expansion of the client base.

Wheldons offers the above service primarily to Housing Associations, Registered Social Landlords and Local Authorities within a 50 mile radius of Newport Pagnell covering Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and West Suffolk.

Operations are controlled from a computerised call centre in Newport Pagnell which provides a service to its clients 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.

The company, which is GAS Safe, NICEIC, OFTEC, SAFEcontractor, Constructionline and EXOR Registered, employs around 100 qualified engineers, installers and support staff and operates a modern fleet of vehicles to ensure an economic service to its clients throughout its area of operation.

At present the company maintains some 28,000 homes and installs around 3000 new heating systems per annum.
